Crosswinds Campground accommodates both tent camping and RV camping. There are also duplex sites available here if you need a site that allows more guests, equipment (tents/RV’s), and/or vehicles.

RV Facilities: 

RV sites include electric and water hookups, suitable for campers needing additional amenities. There is also a dump station located at the campground.

Waterfront Sites: 

Some campsites at Crosswinds Campground are located near the lake, offering scenic waterfront views.

Poplar Point Campground accommodates both tent camping and RV camping. This campground offers duplex sites as well, if you have a slightly larger group or would just like more space.

RV Facilities: 

RV sites include electric and water hookups, providing convenience for campers. There are 2 dump stations located within the campground as well.

Waterfront Sites: 

Many campsites at Poplar Point are located along the lakefront, offering scenic views and direct access to the water. My family’s favorites are sites on loop J, or the sites reserved for walk-ins along loop E.

Beach Area: 

The campground features a designated beach area for swimming and sunbathing, perfect for families and beachgoers.

Hiking Trails:

The Poplar Point Trail is an easy, 2-mile trail that goes from loop B to loop J and can be accessed from any loop within the campground.

There is a playground located along loop E.

New Hope Overlook

If you enjoy primitive camping then you will love New Hope Overlook! The campground is conveniently located within Jordan Lake State Recreation Area, but is nestled into nature and feels secluded. You won’t find a lot of amenities here, but if a true camping experience is what you’re looking for, New Hope Overlook fits the bill.

Camping Options: 

Hike-in, primitive, non-electric, tent camping only.

Waterfront Campsites: 

Some campsites are lakefront.

Beach Access: 

No public beach access.

To ensure we have a spot, we now reserve any available site online in advance. Upon arrival, we explore the walk-in only sites, which often include fantastic options. 

If we find a walk-in site we prefer over our reserved spot, we simply return to the campground’s front gate. The staff has always accommodated our request to switch sites, allowing us to enjoy our preferred location.
